Diwali Celebrations at Forum Mall!

Standard

Diwali is not simply a festival of lights; it goes beyond rangolis, crackers, shopping, and sweets. At heart, it is a festival of love; a time to put aside differences, cut across barriers, and recognizes with pride that the world is, in fact, one single entity. Its people are members of one single family.

Magic Lamp

In cognizance of this, Forum Mall, in association with The Telegraph, 93.5 Red FM (Radio Partner) & CJS (Event Partner), facilitated a Diwali celebration with a difference. From 19th till 22nd October, 2010, Forum organized an event called “Magic Lamp” at its Courtyard on Lee Road. The event inaugurated at 3 pm on 19th Oct’11 displayed stalls by various renowned NGO’s of the city, namely Kadam, Sasha, Offer and IICP & Parivaar who came together to share their social welfare cause. On sale were hand-made cards, gift bags, decorative diyas, and candles, along with several other items and mouth-watering snacks and chats. All proceeds raised from the event went to the respective NGO’s and other charitable foundations.

A “gift well” was also organized, in line with our Gift the Needy campaign. We were greatly pleased to see people come forward to donate clothes, books, accessories, toys etc that they thought would help a life in need.

A ceremony called light a candle was organized in support of the campaign. 2010 Diwali was special for it helped spread happiness in lives of those who are deprieved money and fortune. The entire proceeds of this Diwali event went directly to Hitaishini, an NGO in the aide of Cancer Patients.

At Forum, we would like to believe that our mall goes beyond just air-conditioned walls catering to the needs of a select few. We would like to facilitate the creation of spaces in which life resides and therefore this unique Diwali event was organised.

Along with lighting up our walls, doors and streets, let us light up people’s lives!
